Questions, problems, or a product that looks wrong — this page covers it.

A person reads every message. There's no account system, so please include the product barcode if you're writing about a specific product.
A product's details or score look wrong
Open that product's scorecard in the app and tap “Report a problem with this product” at the bottom. That opens an email with the barcode and score already filled in, which is everything needed to look into it.
This matters most for products that have been reformulated — a manufacturer can change a recipe without changing the barcode, and the app has no way to notice that on its own.
A product isn't in the app
Scan the barcode and the app will offer to add it. Photograph the front of the bag and the ingredient panel, check the text it reads back to you, and it's scored immediately — and it's there for everyone who scans it after you.
The catalogue grows this way rather than through advertising deals, which is why no brand can influence a score.
The camera won't scan a barcode
- Make sure FurMetric has camera permission in your phone's settings.
- Give it good light and hold steady — creased or curved barcodes take a moment.
- Still nothing? Use the “Or enter the barcode manually” box on the Scan screen and type the digits printed under the barcode.
Why did the same food score differently from a friend's app?
It shouldn't. Once a product has a score, that score is fixed — scanning it again returns the same number rather than re-running the analysis. Scores only change when the scoring rulebook itself is deliberately updated. If you're seeing two different numbers for the same barcode, please tell us; that's a bug worth knowing about.
What data do you have about me?
Almost nothing, on purpose. There are no accounts. Your scan history, your pets and their allergy flags, your feeding log and your reaction journal all stay on your phone and are never sent to us. Full detail is in the privacy policy.
How do I delete my data?
Clearing your history in the app, or deleting the app, removes everything held on your device — permanently, since there's no backup. If you've allowed notifications and want the anonymous token stopped, turn notifications off in your phone's settings or email us.
Is this veterinary advice?
No. FurMetric reads ingredient labels and scores them against published nutrition and safety criteria. Allergy flags are plain ingredient-text matching, not a medical assessment. For anything to do with your pet's health or a specific condition, talk to your vet.
